Capacity-building and capacity-enhancement for young researchers is one of the Academy’s core concerns. Moreover GYA members are eager to identify both opportunities and challenges early-career researchers face around the globe, with a view to working with or improving them. The portfolio of projects in the “Research Environment” Theme aims to understand and improve the research environments for scientists around the world, including improvement of access to laboratory equipment and improvement of access to channels for dissemination of findings, as well as bridging the gap between low- and middle- as well as high-income countries.
