Biography

Dr. Pinjari, a Fulbright Alumnus and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Dr. Pinjari has developed protocols for synthesizing various nanomaterials in the laboratory as well as on a pilot scale using the cavitation technique.  He is actively working in the area of process intensification, environmental remediation, energy transformation, and utilization of cavitation in various fields. He had carried out the work on the development of corrosion inhibited nanocontainers for environmental application (marine coating). He is also developing sonochemical-based nanocontainers for textile and pharmaceutical applications. His recent stint for successfully developing solar energy-assisted protocols using Fresnel lens for the synthesis of nanoparticles and other chemical ingredients is remarkable. Using solar energy, he has synthesized various chemical entities and metal oxide nanoparticles as a proof of concept.
Dr. Pinjari has published more than 100 International Papers, 5 technological popularization articles, 10 International Book Chapters, and filed 7 Indian Patents. He is also actively involved in consulting for many industries and has completed more than 20 assignments.

For his academic and research contribution, he has bagged various prestigious awards to his name (Baerlocher Best Teacher Award, INAE Young Engineers Award 2016, Fulbright OLF Awards 2015, The Institution of Engineers Young Engineers Award 2014-2015, IIChE’s M P Chary Memorial Award for Best Chemical Engineering below 35 years, Wipro Earthian Award 2013, Infosys Social Innovation Awards, etc.
