Biography

Biochemist / Gene regulation in human disease

Paulina’s research interests focus on using genomic and molecular tools to understand mechanisms that control neurological and developmental disorders. Concurrently, she is involved in many international and interdisciplinary initiatives related to science policy and science diplomacy.

Paulina served as representative in North and Central America for Ekpa’palek, where she also mentored Latin American students and young professionals. She is part of the Advisory Board of the Science Diplomacy for the Future Initiative and of the International Science Council Global roster of experts and additionally serves as expert reviewer for the Global Environmental Outlook (GEP-7) from UNEP.

She is interested in global affairs, in connecting countries through science and increasing diversity in the scientific community.
