Biography

I am social scientist specialized in education. I obtained my PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil) and my habilitation (Lire Docência) in Culture and Education from the State University of Campinas (Brazil). I used to be a teacher of sociology of several years and nowadays I am an associate professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil), but I was also visiting professor in different universities in Latin America, Europe and in the USA. In recent years I have researching the rise of conservative movements and its impacts in education.
