The UN Summit of the Future is a high-level event, bringing world leaders together to forge a new international consensus on how we deliver a better present and safeguard the future. Over the past months, the GYA has worked togehter with the International Science Council (ISC) to contribute an early-career researcher persepctive to the drafting of a Declaration on Future Generations, intended to be annexed to the Pact for the Future as an output of the Summit in September.

Connected to this high-level event, the Secretary General of the UN convenes the Summit of the Future Action Days on 20-21 September at the UN Headquarters.
The GYA is co-organizing side events at the Action Days. GYA member Mohammad Hosseini (Northwestern University, United States) will speak on 20 September in the side event “Building Bridges through Science Diplomacy: Accelerating progress toward sustainable development”, co-organized with the ISC.
As co-lead of the GYA Trust in (Young) Scientists Working Group, he will also speak in a side event addressing trust in science, co-organized with the UN Secretary-General’s Scientific Advisory Board on Breakthroughs in Science and Technology.
