The world has changed so much in recent weeks. With events unfolding as they are in Ukraine, it seems more important than ever to bring science closer to society.
This was the motivation behind a recent discussion between GYA member Lisa Herzog (University of Groningen, The Netherlands), co-lead of the GYA Trust in (Young) Scientists working group, and GYA Executive Committee member Encieh Erfani (IASBS, Iran).
Their discussion has been captured in the video titled Science with Society #SCISO VLOG Special Edition – Science in times of war”, which is now available.
In addition to discussing the situation in Ukraine as it relates to scientific and academic cooperation, Lisa and Encieh introduce #SCISO, a project in collaboration with the German National Institute for Science Communication (NaWik), funded by the Volkswagen Foundation, that aims to help build trust in science among people through a series of tutorial videos.
