Biography
Rothsophal Nguon is a country director of S.E Asia foundation and a co-founder of the Australia-Pacific International School in Siem Reap, in which she is involved in part of the improvement of the quality of education in Cambodia.
She had served as Assistant Director at Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia, Siem Reap Campus (PUC-SR) from 2010-2017 and still continuing her teaching career there. She has been actively involved with youth volunteer programs in both Cambodia and abroad. Over the last 10 years she has made a positive impact for underprivileged children in rural areas and city youth who have difficulty in choosing a career path. She has participated with various charities, NGO networks and business groups.
In Sweden she obtained her Masters in Industrial Management in which her research focused on female entrepreneurship in Cambodia to identify the life changes and economic development made possible when more girls can access to education (2007). Prior to this she earned her Masters of Arts in Ecological Economics which concentrated on sustainable tourism in Cambodia and Thailand (2006).
Inspired by her academic pursuits and life experiences, she is currently focused on social welfare and gender equity & advocacy research.
