Below are some impressions from the Closing Ceremony of the GYA’s International Conference of Young Scientists “Harmonising Reason with Sensibility: Regenerating science for an inclusive and sustainable future”, as well as the final day of the Annual General Meeting.
On the final day of the Conference, President-elect of the International Science Council Motoko Kotani discussed the ISC’s ongoing activities, as well as its new initiative to expand Young Academy presence in the ISC by accepting applications for Affiliate Membership. You can learn more of this program here.
Her speech was followed by GYA member Yoko Shimpuku (Hiroshima University, Japan) presenting attendees with the working draft of the Conference Statement. After discussion and input by attendees, several amendments were made.
The Conference Statement Committee will now take up the document and complete and release it soon.
