GYA members and alumni Stefan Kohler (Heidelberg University, Germany), Chika Ejikeugwu (ESUT, Nigeria), Udom Sae-Ueng (BIOTEC, Thailand), and Xuan Bach Tran (Hanoi Medical University, Vietnam) from the GYA’s Global Health working group as well as GYA alumnus Yusuf Baran (Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey) participated in the World Health Summit 2023.
The World Health Summit (WHS) is the unique international strategic forum for global health. Held annually in Berlin, it brings together stakeholders from politics, science, the private sector, and civil society from around the world to set the agenda for a healthier future by inspiring innovative solutions for better health and well-being for all. The World Health Summit 2023 was held under the theme “A Defining Year for Global Health Action”.
In connection with the WHS, the IAP runs the Young Physician Leader Programme. Global Health working group member Antonia Morita Saktiawati (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia), who had been nominated by the GYA, participated in the programme. Together with 17 other exceptional young physicians from 15 countries and four continents, she engaged in a six-day leadership course.
