The closing ceremony of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development will be held at the new Science Gateway building at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland, and online.
The Global Young Academy has collaborated with Young Academies and Associations on a position statement, which has so far been signed by 28 organisations and will be launched at the event.
GYA members and alumni will be speaking at the in-person closing ceremony on 15 December: GYA Co-Chair Felix Moronta Barrios (ICGEB, Italy), EC members Devina Lobine (Higher Education Commission, Mauritius) and Hussam Hussein (Royal Scientific Society, Jordan); Carlo D’Ippoliti (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy) and alumnus Javier Garcia-Martinez (University of Alicante, Spain).
