Auditors
GYA auditors review the organisation’s records and evaluates its compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In particular, it provides financial transparency to the membership, monitors decision-making processes and suggests measures for improvement.
EC Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC)
The NEC is responsible for managing the nomination and election process for the GYA leadership elections (Co-Chairs and Executive Committee) before and during the AGM.
Nominations and Opportunities Committee (Nom+OppC)
The GYA is frequently invited to nominate candidates for different opportunities. The role of this committee is to ensure that the process of nominating GYA representatives is fair and transparent.
Constitutional and Legal Committee
The role of the Constitutional and Legal Committee is to review suggestions in terms of legal feasibility, assess the impact of these changes and advise the EC.
Outputs Review Committee (ORC)
The ORC manages the review of all GYA outputs that are intended for release into the public domain in the name of the GYA or are recognised as having had major GYA input and/or funding (statements, reports, surveys, etc.).
Activities Review Committee
The ARC manages the allocation of internal funding for member activities by overseeing the application process for internal funding. The Committee is supported by the GYA Office in the processing of the applications and the announcement of decisions.
Membership Selection Committee
The GYA Membership Selection Committee takes care of the selection process of the GYA, and plays a vital role in maintaining the excellence and diversity of new members. The members of this committee review all incoming applications for new membership each year.
Fundraising and Independence Committee
GYA’s annual funds are made up of German institutional funding, provided by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR; formerly the BMBF) and the State of Saxony-Anhalt, as well as ad-hoc fundraising activities with foundations, science organisations and others.
Conference Committee
The LOC is responsible for the major part of the fundraising (in cooperation with the GYA Fundraising Committee), all local organisational questions, the local/regional protocol and guests for the annual GYA flagship event, the AGM and Conference.
