The GYA Science Advice working group, in collaboration with INGSA-Africa, is organizing a workshop intended to provide participants with an overview of the concept of “science advice”.
Having impacted all spheres of life, the COVID-19 pandemic has helped to review what science can contribute to society and which evidence is available to guide decision making processes at all levels, and it has created a space of dialogue between scientists, policy-makers and the public.
In the online workshop, particular focus will be placed on the use of science advice during the COVID-19 pandemic in relation to traditional knowledge in Africa. An additional objective of the workshop is to examine existing platforms and structures of science advice in Africa, as well as in Europe and Latin America.
The workshop will be held ONLINE 18-19 May 2022 from 13:00 to 15:30 UTC.
To register for this event, please send an email to Justine Germo, co-lead of the Science Advice working group, (), by 15 May 2022.
