UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2026

Nominations are now open for the 2026 UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize, honoring individuals, organizations, or institutions that have significantly promoted or defended press freedom, often at great risk. The laureate will receive USD 25,000 and a certificate during the World Press Freedom Day ceremony on 3 May 2026. Member States and organizations working in journalism and freedom of expression can nominate up to three candidates.
