As a member of the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP), the GYA nominated both members and alumni to IAP boards and committees prior to recent leadership elections.  The following GYA members and alumni have been elected to IAP committees for the next three years; some were nominated by their national academies:

The IAP elections were held in preparation for the upcoming IAP Triennial Conference and General Assembly from 8–11 December 2025, in Cairo, Egypt, when the newly-elected roles will commence.

The vote renewed the six-member Board, updated key leadership roles, and expands IAP’s global membership, strengthening its commitment to inclusive and representative scientific governance. The Board will continue to be supported by a 12-member Advisory Committee and three Programme and Development Committees, as outlined in the IAP Statutes.

In addition to the election of individuals to IAP leadership, the online polling of IAP members also confirmed the following academies as full IAP members:

This brings the total of IAP member academies to 153. The full outcome of the election can be found here.
