Biography
Faham Khamesipour is an interdisciplinary scientist working at the interface of parasitology, zoonotic diseases, veterinary, and global health. Trained as a veterinarian and public health specialist, he holds a PhD in Parasitology and has completed postdoctoral research on Leishmania and hydatid cysts. He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications and multiple books and has led nationally impactful research projects. Recognised among the world’s top 2% of scientists (Stanford University), he actively contributes to international scientific communities, editorial boards, and science policy initiatives. His work aims to bridge human and animal health systems and to advance education, research, and global collaboration on zoonotic diseases.
Faham Khamesipour is a researcher in One Health and Global Health whose work integrates infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, veterinary public health, epidemiology, evidence synthesis, and health policy. He is an active collaborator of the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study and has contributed to numerous high-impact international publications, including collaborative studies published in The Lancet family of journals.
His research focuses on translating scientific evidence into policy and practice through multidisciplinary and international collaboration. He has extensive experience in systematic reviews, meta-analyses, comparative health research, and the science–policy interface, with a particular interest in sustainable health systems, zoonotic diseases, and global health security.
As a member of the Global Young Academy, he is committed to strengthening international research partnerships, supporting early- and mid-career researchers, promoting One Health approaches, advancing open and responsible science, and fostering collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and society to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
