The deadline has been extended: Submissions are now accepted until 17 April 2019.
In February, the GYA was formally invited to join the Steering Committee of the World Science Forum (WSF). To ensure continuity, it was decided that one of the GYA’s Co-Chairs would be the representative each year, with this year’s honour going to Co-Chair Connie Nshemereirwe (Uganda).
As members of the WSF Steering Committee, the GYA is tasked with organising the young scientist pre-conference workshop in partnership with other young scientist organisations, and with contributing to facilitating intergenerational intercultural dialogue at the WSF.
This year, the WSF offers the opportunity for any scientific organisation to apply for the thematic sessions to be included into the main programme of WSF. Speakers and moderators of thematic sessions are invited to participate at the full programme of WSF free of charge and are offered free accommodation between 20-23 November.
The format of the thematic sessions are as follows: Each parallel session will last 90 minutes, and applicants are encouraged to develop interactive session formats to engage the audience at the event. The use of WSF social media (e.g. WSF2019 Twitter and Facebook page) may be considered to enhance audience interaction prior and during the session.
Deadline for submission of session proposals is 17 April 2019. Session proposals should be submitted using this form. All submitted proposals are reviewed by the Steering Committee of World Science Forum, and results of the open call will be announced by 31 May.
