The GYA, and its Global Health working group in particular, enjoys a longstanding partnership with the World Health Summit – which is the unique international strategic forum for global health. Held annually in Berlin, it brings together stakeholders from politics, science, the private sector, and civil society from around the world to set the agenda for a healthier future by inspiring innovative solutions for better health and well-being for all.
The World Health Summit 2024 takes place from 13-15 October 2024 in Berlin, Germany, and online under the theme “Building Trust for a Healthier World”.

In connection with the WHS, the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) runs an annual Young Physician Leader Programme. GYA member Thao Thi Phuong Nguyen (Hanoi Medical University, Vietnam) was nominated by the GYA and accepted to participate in this programme.
Additionally, in 2024, the WHS provided five fee-waivers for registration to GYA members and alumni; members Wasim Sajjad, Keith Phiri, and Oluwarotimi W. Samuel, as well as alumni Isil Kunarz and Stefan Kohler were selected for these waivers.
