The Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS), the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC) and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), will be hosting an international conference on Sustainable African Cities from 3-6 July 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
Besides developing a visionary outline for the future development of African cities, the conference will serve as joint horizon scanning by African, German and other European experts for possible future collaborations on areas of relevance to Urban Development and Planning. Conference outcomes will also work towards NASAC’s recommendations on the issue of urbanisation in Africa.
The Conference is part of the “Strengthening African Academies” project of which the GYA is a partner.
The GYA has nominated 5 members and 3 representatives from national young academies or academy initiatives to attend this Conference.
