The ALLEA General Assembly convenes academies of sciences and humanities from 40 countries across the Council of Europe region. On the occasion of its 2020 General Assembly, ALLEA, together with its UK member academies seeks to engage in an international and interdisciplinary debate around the theme of “Research Collaboration in Changing Times”.
Discussions will be structured in three sessions:
- Protecting Collaborative Research in a Turbulent Europe
- Balancing Excellence and Regional Equality within Europe
- Interdisciplinary Research: The Key to the Future?
The GYA is proud to be represented by three speakers at this high-level symposium. GYA Co-Chair Koen Vermeir (CNRS, France) will be on the opening panel. Further contributors are Anet Rezek Jambrak (Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, Croatia) and GYA alumna Ivana Gadjanski (BioSense Institute, Serbia).

On the occasion of the ALLEA General Assembly, the All European Academies Madame de Staël Prize for Cultural Values will be awarded to an eminent scholar or intellectual whose work represents a significant contribution to the cultural and intellectual values of Europe and to the idea of European integration.
