2025 European Young Academies Meeting

Young Academies from all over Europe will meet for this year’s ENYA meeting in Bern, Switzerland, on 5-6 June 2025. The meeting will be organised and hosted by the Swiss Young Academy, and will continue discussions from previous meetings, including discussing best practices and areas of joint interest.

The GYA will be represented by YASAS delegate and member of the 2024/25 EC Markus Prutsch (European Parliament, Austria) and YASAS Observer and co-lead of the UN SDG working group Stella Tsani (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece). A number of GYA members will participate wearing their respective national young academy hats.

This year’s meeting will focus on the topic of Science Diplomacy, exploring its significance in international cooperation, evidence-based policymaking, and addressing global challenges. A particular emphasis will be placed on the role of early-career researchers in Science Diplomacy and how Young Academies can contribute to shaping this field.

As in previous years, the General Assembly of YASAS – the Young Academies Science Advice Structure in Europe – will be held in conjunction with the ENYA meeting.

Participation: Please note that participation in the ENYA meetings is only open to Young Academy delegates selected by their academy (up to 2 members and 1 office staff per young academy).
