UNESCO and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea have opened applications for the 2026 UNESCO‑Equatorial Guinea Fellowship Programme for Young Women Scientists in Africa, supporting early‑career women researchers in the life sciences. Two fellows will receive USD 25,000 each to advance innovative research that strengthens scientific capacity and contributes to sustainable development. The programme addresses persistent gender gaps in science by providing targeted funding, training opportunities and international visibility.
Eligible nominees must be African nationals under 45, hold a doctorate in a life‑science field and conduct research at a recognised African laboratory.
