The GYA and our working group on the History of the GYA are pleased to present a new white paper entitled “A digital archive of GYA history“. The paper details the latest phase of our efforts to create a digital archive of material related to the founding of our young academy during the years 2008-2010. This project is an important part of our efforts to understand and preserve our history, as well as to gain insights that can inform our future direction.
We are particularly excited to share this paper with the world’s Young Academies and our partners, as it offers a unique perspective on the history and development of a young academy. The process of documenting and preserving the history of scientific academies can be a valuable tool for organizations of all ages and missions, as exemplified by the Royal Society’s early efforts to record its own history less than 10 years after its founding in 1660.
In this white paper, readers will have the opportunity to learn about the GYA’s past and how it has developed over time. We believe that the lessons learned from our history can be beneficial to other organizations seeking to support and advance the cause of young scientists around the world.
