The World Science Forum is one of the most ambitious conference series worldwide. Every two years, scientist from all over the world, gather for the World Science Forum with focus on the social and economic relevance, influence and responsibilities of science. This years iteration of this international reknown event, takes place in Cape Town, South Africa. During the four days of World Science Fora over 900 leading scientists, decision-makers from the world of politics, industry, representatives of the civil society and the media express their views on the new challenges facing science in the 21st century.

Cape Town City tour for early-career researchers
The GYA invites all our current members, alumni and members of Young Academies attending the World Science Forum this year to join us for a tour of the city of Cape Town with a thematic focus on this year’s WSF topic “Science for Social Justice”.
During the tour, participants will have the chance to meet with other early career researchers who are in town for the World Science Forum. The tour will not only provide a first orientation of the WSF but will also introduce you to the wonderful city of Cape Town with a special focus on “science for social justice”.
The tour is organized jointly by the Global Young Academy, the InterAcademy Partnership, the Africa Science Leadership Programme and the South African Young Academy of Science.
Date: Tuesday, 6th December, 1-4 PM local time
This tour will be organized by Early Career Researchers for Early Career Researchers.

Exhibition booth
The GYA will host an exhibition booth together with the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS). The booth will be located in the main exhibition hall, stand number 503. All GYA members and alumni are invited to use this booth as a place to meet and connect with other early career researchers.
