Biography
Xingsheng Liu received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA, USA. Dr. Liu is a professor of Xi¡¯an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Science. He is also the CTO of Xi¡¯an Focuslight Technologies. His current work is related to the development of high power semiconductor laser technology and products. Dr. Liu has worked for nLight Photonics Corp., Coherent Inc. and Corning Inc. in the United States in the field of high power semiconductor lasers. Dr. Liu has published over 90 papers in journals and conference proceedings and holds about 20 US and Chinese patents. His research interests include optoelectronic packaging, characterization, processing design and development, thermal management as well as reliability evaluation and failure analysis of optoelectronic devices and packages.
