Sergey Kostyrko

Biography

Sergey Kostyrko is an associate professor of St. Petersburg State University. His research area covers the different aspects of mechanics and thermodynamics of thin film materials, such as effect of surface and interface properties on the mechanical behavior of film coatings, morphological patterns formation due to surface and volume diffusion, multiscale modelling of layered composites. Recent activities also include research in sound synthesis and digital signal processing. In this field, his interests are focused on the design of sound synthesis algorithms based on techniques of mathematical and physical modelling, such as molecular dynamics simulation, finite element method, finite difference method.
