Biography

Dr. Santosh Kumar Gupta joined the 53rd batch of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Training School and subsequently joined the Radiochemistry Division in 2010. His area research focuses on  spectroscopy of photonic materials, defect and doping engineering to achieve multi-functionalities and designing light emitting materials for health, energy and environment etc.

Dr. Gupta is the recipient of several awards notable among them are Fulbright Fellowship, Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) Postdoctoral Fellowship, and Japan Society of Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and Scientific India Young Scientist award, Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists and Allied Scientists (IANCAS) Young Scientist Medal, Society of Materials Chemistry (SMC) Bronze medal, Fulbright Outreach Lecture Fund (OLF) Award and Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha (CRS) silver medal.

He has also been bestowed with membership of Indian national young academy of sciences (INSA-INYAS) & National academy of sciences India (NASI) and young associate of Maharashtra academy of sciences (MASc). He has been an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society (FICS) and Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences (FMASc) for the year 2023.  He has received Royal Society of Chemistry certificate for among 10 % most cited author and the International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD) certificate for JCPDS, Powder Diffraction File. He is also a Guest Editor for Nanomaterials and Frontiers in Chemistry.

He was featured in Top 2% most Influential scientists worldwide based on the Scopus publications impact consecutively for the year 2020, 2021 and 2022 prepared by Prof. John PA Loannidis of Stanford University and his team and published by Elsevier. As of today, he has published more than 253 peer reviewed international journal articles having more 6400 citations with h-index of 50 and i-10 index of 141.
