Based on the Africa and ASEAN science leadership programmes, this two-day workshop brought together over 30 new GYA members to develop communicative leadership skills for their careers and their work with the GYA. The workshop, facilitated by Inclusive Innovation, aimed to increase awareness and abilities to communicate research, conduct discourse across disciplines and develop networks. In essence, participants worked on how to demonstrate leadership in the context of academic circles, but also more broadly in the communities young scientists serve and the regions and disciplines they represent.
