Purpose: The photos / recordings can be published on the GYA website, one of its micro-sites and the GYA social media channels. It might go on to radio, TV and print media (including books). So by agreeing to this aspect of the GYA’s data processing, you agree to the possible publication on the website of the Global Young Academy (https://globalyoungacademy.net) and its microsites. As well as publication on flyers and other print / audio-video / online materials for events and activities of the Global Young Academy, or the Global Young Academy in cooperation with third parties. Furthermore, content may be published on the digital publication server of GYA’s host organization Leopoldina.
By making verbal contributions, you implicitly consent to video recordings being created and published on the aforementioned platforms.
Duration of processing: The recordings are part of the archived information pertaining to the Global Young Academy and will thus be stored indefinitely. They will not be used in any means for monetisation or advertising. If you wish for your footage to be deleted sooner, please contact the Global Young Academy at instantly. Legal basis and legitimate interest: The processing is carried out on the basis of the legitimate interest of the Global Young Academy to visually document the event and to report positively about it to a larger public (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). The Global Young Academy will store this material for archiving purposes. There is no definite timeframe for deletion. As an individual, however, you have the right to data deletion at any point (see below).

The processing of video recordings (collection, storage, and publication on the platforms mentioned under ‘Purpose’Â is based on the consent of the individuals concerned, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
The publication of selected photographs in online media and print publications of the Global Young Academy is necessary for its public relations efforts and thus serves its legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. This is also based on the implied consent provided by participating in the event, as per Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
The Global Young Academy c/o Leopoldina notes that video recordings published on the internet are accessible worldwide. As a result, the reuse of such recordings by third parties cannot be entirely ruled out.
The consent applies from the date of the event and solely to photo and video recordings created during this event. Unless revoked, the consent is valid indefinitely. Consent is voluntary, and refusal to provide it will not result in any disadvantages. Consent can be withdrawn at any time with future effect. However, please note that verbal contributions cannot be published without corresponding consent, as the event is filmed in its entirety.
Finally, under the GDPR, you are entitled to exercise your rights as a data subject in accordance with Articles 15–21 GDPR and Article 13(2)(d) GDPR (right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commissioner of the State of Saxony-Anhalt).
