Biography
Dr. Gona is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Massachusetts Boston. For many years Dr. Gona worked at Boston University as biostatistician at the renowned Framingham Heart Study. His research interests focus on bio-statistical methods for epidemiologic studies, survival data analysis, and longitudinal data analysis with applications in cardiovascular disease, HIV/AIDS, global health and statistical genetics. Dr. Gona has extensive experience in statistical analyses of observational and experimental studies. Previously he was a Research Scientist at Harvard School of Public Health Department of Biostatistics Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research. He has co-authored on a wide range of cardiovascular epidemiology-related topics. His collaborative research has appeared in such journals as The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, The Lancet, Stroke, Journal of the American College of Cardiology and Circulation. Besides GYA membership, his professional association memberships include the American Statistical Association and the International Biometrics Society.
