Based on the Africa and ASEAN science leadership programmes, the two-day workshop, facilitated by KnowInnovation facilitators, aimed to bring together new GYA members and impart them with skills they can use within the GYA and in their scientific and other careers. 27 participants worked intensively over the two days.
The workshop aimed to increase awareness and abilities to communicate research, conduct discourse across disciplines, develop networks, engage the public with science and use scientific knowledge to impact policy – in essence, how to demonstrate leadership in the context of academic circles, but also more broadly in the communities young scientists serve and the regions and disciplines they represent.
