Biography

Dr. Muhamamd Saif Ur Rehman is working as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Biochemical Engineering Research Center, Anhui University of Technology, China. He also works as Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in the Department of Chemical Engineering, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) since October 2014. He has earned several achievements based on his excellent research. His achievements include Erasmus Mundus Master Studentship 2008 (European Union), KAIST PhD Scholarship 2011 (South Korea) and President International Postdoctoral Fellowship 2016 (Chinese Academy of Science, China). He won prestigious Green Talent Award 2014 by Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany based on his outstanding research achievements in the areas of Bioenergy and Environmental Sustainability. He recently achieved the Award of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Environmental Management 2017 in the category of Best Research by ISESCO. He has published more than 36 research papers in highly reputed journals. Based on his research productivity, he received Research Productivity Awards 2015-17 from CIIT. Pakistan Council of Science and Technology has ranked him among the top 10 most Productive Young Chemical Engineer 2017 (< 40 years) in the country. Based on his research excellence, he won the highest research funding award under National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (Rs. 19.6 million) for his project titled Simultaneous biodiesel production and textile wastewater treatment using Microlalgal-Advanced Oxidation Processes (MAP) system. Under this project, he has successfully established his own Biorefinery Engineering and Microfluidics (BEAM) research group in CIIT. Moreover, he has established active research collaborations with the local as well as international scientists from China, Germany, Sri Lanka and South Korea. He is also working as the Institutional Coordinator for Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme named MERGING VOICES Project. 
He is an active member of National Academy of Young Scientists, Pakistan. He has developed several training modules for the career development of young scientists. His other interests include science diplomacy, science & technology policy, awareness campaign for environmental issues etc. He is the founding Secretary of the Environmental Society of Pakistan.
