Biography

Michal Biron is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Management, University of Haifa (Israel), and a visiting researcher in the Department of Human Resource Studies at Tilburg University (the Netherlands). She is the Academic head of the MBA program at the University of Haifa. Dr. Biron received her Ph.D. (in 2007) from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology. She has received a number of awards for her research including the Academy of Management HR Division Foundation Best Dissertation Award. Dr. Biron is the Israeli Ambassador for, and the chair of the Academy of Management HR Division Ambassadors Program. She also co-chairs the Academy of Management HR Division’s International Committee. Her research focuses on the nature of peer relations and employee-supervisor relations and the implications of such relations for individuals and organizations, stress and burnout, and employee deviance. Her articles have appeared in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Human Relations, and The International Journal of Human Resource Management.
