Biography

Dr. Liwei Chen got his B.S. from University of Science and Technology of China, M.S. from Peking University, and Ph.D. from Harvard University. He worked as a joint postdoctoral research fellow between Columbia University and IBM T.J. Watson Research center, and then as an assistant professor at Ohio University. In 2009, Liwei Chen moved back to China as the deputy director of the i-LAB at Suzhou Institute of Nanotechnology and Nanobionics (SINANO), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Later in 2009, he was appointed as the vice director of SINANO.His current research interest focus on nano-interfacial materials and functional nanodevices in energy applications. Besides basic science, he also concerns about the societal impact of technology and explores the translation of bench-top research to commercialized technology and products.
