Biography
Professor Keith Phiri is a climate change specialist, prolific researcher, and an internationally acclaimed conference presenter affiliated with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). He has research interests in livelihoods and the environment, particularly in the area of climate change. He has researched on smallholder farmers’ adaptive responses to global warming. Keith also has research interests in gender issues, poverty, water, peace and conflict, natural resource governance and food security. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences (University of Fort hare, South Africa) where his study focus was on the efficacy of small grains and small livestock production as technical climate change adaptation options in Tsholotsho and Matobo, Zimbabwe. He has a number of research articles from referred journals on climate change impacts and adaptation. He is an Eisenhower Fellow class of 2022 USA a Global Young Academy Fellow (2023- 2028). Prof Keith Phiri is an inaugural member of the Network for Emergent Socio-Scientific Thinking (NESST) as a Scientist Ambassador serving under the Smithsonian Science Education Center in Washington DC the United States of America.
