Javier M. Moguerza

Biography

Javier M. Moguerza (BSc in Mathematics, Complutense University of Madrid, 1995, PhD in Mathematical Engineering, University Carlos III of Madrid, 2000) is Full Professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC). In this institution, he has been Academic Director for International Relations, Vice-Dean for Research at the Computer Science School and Academic Secretary at the Computer Science and Statistics Department. His professional expertise is focused on Computational and Applied Mathematics, Optimization and Data Science. Regarding these topics, he has relevant publications and regularly coordinates and participates in publicly and privately funded research projects. He served as a Full Member of the Global Young Academy during the period 2011-2016, and has belonged to its Alumni since 2016. He has been a Full Academician and Secretary of the Young Academy of Spain since its foundation, in 2019, and until 2024. Since 2024 he is a Corresponding Academician of this institution.
