Biography
H. Zhao received his Bachelor degree (in 2005) from University of Jinan. He received his Master degree (in 2007) and PhD degree (in 2011), from Zhejiang University, and Institut national de la recherche Scientifique (Canada) respectively. Dr. Zhao has extensive experiences in (1) the synthesis of near infrared-emitting quantum dots, (2) the synthesis of colloidal quantum dot for solar cell applications or bio-applications, (3) the synthesis of low-dimensional heterostructured semiconductor nanocrystals for applications in bio-sensor. More recently, for thermal-sensor, light emitting devices, luminescent solar concentrator, and solar-driven hydrogen generation and excitonic solar cells using nano-structured metallic oxide, organic dyes, carbon dots, quantum dots, and organo-halide lead perovskite materials and upconversion nanocrystals. Since 2014, Dr. Zhao is the coordinator/group leader at NanoFemtoLab (NFL) (INRS) of the research group on Advanced Materials for Solar Energy Application and Sensor, in which metal oxide nanowires, innovative quantum dots are being developed. Since 2013 he have been awarded the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada Postdoctoral Fellowship and Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT) postdoctoral fellowship. Since 2018/02, he is a full professor at Qingdao University.Â
