On 7 March 2018, the GYA participated in a discussion event with regional parliamentarians on “Digitalisation in Science and Society” which was co-organised by the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the German Junge Akademie and the GYA in Magdeburg, Germany.
GYA member Dr Maral Dadvar shared a panel with Professor Uwe Cantner, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, and Dr Florian Meinel from the Junge Akademie, Germany, to discuss changes brought about by digitalisation.
Members of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt, where the GYA’s Office is now based, were interested to hear about possible future scenarios and their impacts on society and policy-making. They listened to the three experts explaining about potential consequences for society, parliament and politics, and the world of science, and engaged in lively discussion.
