GYA MD Heidi Wedel was invited to the Annual General Meeting of the RSE Young Academy of Scotland (YAS) in Stirling. The two academies not only share joint goals but also two active members, Rob Jenkins and Karen Lorimer. The GYA presentation and Karen’s enthusiasm obviously inspired more YAS members to join the GYA and they were encouraged by their co-chairs who promised to support their application for GYA membership. The GYA congratulates its member Karen Lorimer for having been selected into the YAS Facilitating Group and commencing to act as one of the 4 YAS co-chairs in the 2013/14 term.
As a particularly inspiring part of the meeting the Global Young Academy, the German Young Academy, the Dutch Young Academy and the Young Academy of Sweden presented their activities and discussed issues of joint concerns, international links and opportunities for cooperation.
