The GYA held its first dedicated in-person meeting of members of its Advisory Board with the two Co-Chairs Tolu Oni and Moritz Riede, and GYA Managing Director Beate Wagner on 29 and 30 March in Oxford, UK. Advisory Board members present were Bruce Alberts, Yuko Harayama, Kevin Marsh and Narong Sirilertworakul.
The GYA’s Advisory Board members used the opportunity to obtain better insight into the practical work and challenges of the GYA, while the GYA obtained diverse and useful advice on all aspects on the meeting’s agenda. The GYA will build on these discussions and our Advisory Board members can in future offer even more targeted advice and link GYA’s challenges to their networks and means to support our members.
Given how well this first meeting went, it is planned to make such meetings a part of the annual GYA calendar.
