Biography

Dmitry Rudenko is an Associate Professor of Economics at Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg, Russia and a PhD candidate in CERGE-EI, Czech Republic. Dmitry obtained his Candidate of Economic Science Degree (PhD) from Institute of Regional Economics of RAS, Saint-Petersburg in 2009. Before joining Higher School of Economics in 2019, Dmitry worked at the Tyumen State University as a chairman of the International Economics Department, a deputy director for research, and an associate professor. In 2022, Dmitry received MA degree in Economics and Econometrics in CERGE-EI, Charles University (Prague). He has more than ten years of experience of teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels in various fields of development economics, international trade, mathematical methods for economics, statistics in Tyumen and Saint Petersburg. Additionally, his long-term experience of using the statistical software packages (R, Stata, and Julia) enables him to conduct empirical research effectively. His research interests include energy and sustainable development issues, poverty and inequality, spatial development. He has published research papers in reputed journals with more than 500 citations on Google Scholar. His papers have appeared in Regional Research of Russia, International Journal of Emerging Markets, International Journal of Public Policy, International Journal of Global Environmental Issues. Dmitry has participated in the research projects as a leader and an assistant including “Multidimensional poverty monitoring in the regions of Russia (Grant for young scientists. Founded by the Russian President”, “Program-oriented planning of the Russian Arctic zone complex development. Founded by the Russian Scientific Fund” and “Innovative development of the circumpolar area of the Tyumen region: the possibility of localization and effects of inter-regional cooperation. Founded by the Russian Scientific Fund for the Humanities”.
