The GYA wishes to conduct an intercultural training in conflict management at the Executive Committee meeting to be held in Berlin on 20 January 2014. We envision improving the work of the EC by identifying and addressing culture related differences and sensitivities that may cause uneasiness among the members and thereby hinder discussions and impede decisions. We also wish to improve the leadership and moderating capacities of the GYA leaders towards the GYA membership. Enhancing their knowledge on intercultural issues should raise their awareness of potential conflicts due to cultural differences (including different gender roles), increase their ability to address these in a culturally sensitive manner, and enable them to effectively moderate controversial discussions and conflicts.
