Charisma is currently an Assistant Professor in Department of Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology from where she completed her undergraduate studies in 2002. She completed her Msc and PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2005 and 2007 respectively. She has recently been awarded the Gordon Newell Memorial Prize 2010 for her doctoral dissertation. She is also recipient of Honorable Mention of the Eric Pas Dissertation Award, Martin Family Society for Sustainability Fellowship, MIT Presidential Fellowship and Malik Akram Hossain Gold Medal.Her research interests include demand modeling and discrete choice analysis, traffic simulation, public transportation, sustainable transport and energy systems, transportation in developing countries.
