Biography
As a science diplomacy specialist and international affairs analyst, Branislav Pantović, originally from Serbia, is based in Argentina and holds a PhD in International Relations. His work focuses on translating evidence into action in complex geopolitical settings and on promoting science as a public good through cross-sector international collaboration.
He is Vice President of the Latin America & the Caribbean Science Diplomacy Network (DiploCientífica), where he advances Latin American perspectives through regional events, research groups, and policy outputs. Additionally, he co-developed Argentina’s first postgraduate program in Science Diplomacy at Universidad Nacional de La Plata, where he teaches concepts, actor ecosystems, and strategies in science diplomacy.
Previously, he served as Thematic Analyst for International Affairs at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), conducting open-source monitoring and horizon scanning of AI governance, conflicts, crises, and technology trends to support operations and decision-making. As a Science, Technology and Policy Fellow at the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), he participated in and supported regional science-policy dialogues and workshops, collaborating with researchers and government officials across the Americas. He also supported the internationalization of higher education at Universidad Nacional de Río Negro (Argentina), with a focus on science. Earlier, as a full-time researcher at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, he focused on diasporas in international relations, cultural relations, and the culture of remembrance, enabling him to collaborate with Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to serve as secretary of the Serbian state delegation to the United Nations headquarters in New York.
