The GYA is pleased to announce that the 2027 GYA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and International Conference of Young Scientists will be hosted by the Indonesian Young Academy of Sciences (ALMI) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from 21-25 June 2027.
The Conference theme, “Rooted Resilience: Interfacing Global Science and Indigenous Science for a Sustainable Future,” will reflect on the role of science and young researchers in addressing urgent global challenges including climate change, health crises, digital transformation, and equity in science, through diverse regional and sociocultural perspectives.
Indonesia’s unique context—as a megadiverse, multicultural archipelagic nation rich in indigenous knowledge and local wisdom, yet facing pressing sustainability challenges—offers powerful inspiration for dialogue and action. Organized in partnership with the Indonesian Young Academy of Sciences (ALMI), with strong support from the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI), the GYA-AGM 2027 aims to foster impactful collaboration at the science–policy–society interface.
