Fossil fuel subsidies linger like unwanted houseguests, while GDP-driven models chase quick wins over sustainable gains. And despite global promises, crucial policies fall short. The new publication presents evidence of worsening trends, inadequate measures, and the urgent need for bold policy action in the EU. At the same time, it explores policy options for the EU that contribute to transformative change.
