IAP, the global network of science academies, have released a research guide titled ‘Doing Global Science: A Guide to Responsible Conduct in the Global Research Enterprise’. The publication offers guidance on conducting research responsibly in a research environment that is increasingly international and multidisciplinary, and identifies responsible research practices that scientists around the world should embrace, as well as highlighting practices that should be avoided.

GYA founding member Paula Kivimaa in her function as member of the IAP Research Integrity Committee was one of the co-authours, and GYA member Sameh Soror took part in reviewing the publication. Many other members and alumni of the Global Young Academy contributed their own work and experience to the creation of this guide.

Indira Nath, co-chair if the IAP Research Integrity Committee, and Pieter Drenth, committee member and former presidident of All European Academies (ALLEA), presented the report at a panel on ‘Fostering Research Integrity’ as part of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) annual meeting, Washington DC, on 14 February 2016. For additional information please see the official press release.

The electronic version of the guide is available for free download from the InterAcademy Council (IAC) website. Print copies are available for sale from Princeton University Press
