I am a Venezuelan biologist committed to facilitating the adoption of agricultural products enhanced by modern biotechnologies. As a Programme Specialist in the Regulatory Science Group at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB, Trieste, Italy), I support projects aimed to energize and strengthen biotechnology regulatory offices in the Global South. I work closely with national and international authorities for ensuring regulatory effectiveness in the changing landscape of evolving biotechnologies. We use to post about our activities on our group's Facebook page.

I am a co-founder and vice-president of the Persea Foundation, an NGO aimed to promote scientific culture in Latin America. I am a member of the Latin American Network for Scientific Culture (RedLCC) and of the Latin American and Caribbean Network for Science Diplomacy (DiploCientífica).

More of my professional activities and background at my LinkedIn profile and Google Scholars profile.

I go crazy for arepas, pizza, astronomy, and CrossFit, with no specific order. I use to Tweet as @morontafelix and @VzlaBio, and post (mainly) random pictures on Instagram. Sometimes I write things on my blog
